Fumigation: what is it and why am I being charged?

Fumigation is when a container is disinfected using chemicals. 

Some countries require incoming containers to be fumigated at the receiving port. Please check with your country's customs and clearance laws to find out if it is required. 

Usually, this is only a requirement for containers exported to Central and South America (i.e. Guatemala and Chile)

If this fee applies to a container with your vehicle, we will inform you of any additional charges.
