Bank wire transfer fees: why is my wire short?
HaulMatch's bank, the "receiving" bank, does not charge you for wire transfers. So, if you've received an e-mail or call from HaulMatch saying that we received a short wire this may be why:
- Most overseas banks use an “intermediary” bank because they do not have direct connection to the US Wiring System; they have to use big conglomerate banks like Bank of America, Wells Fargo, HSBC, etc.
- Conglomerate banks act as intermediaries between your "sending" bank and HaulMatch's "receiving" bank
What happens is that both your "sending" bank and the "intermediary" bank charges you a wire transfer fee.
When you make your wire transfers to HaulMatch, please ask your bank for all wire transfer fees. Otherwise, you may need to pay the "sending" and "Intermediary" banks more fees in order to finalize your payment to HaulMatch.
Please Note: HaulMatch cannot begin searching for a driver to pick up your vehicle until we are paid in full.
